Bless Your Past?
When I read this I was taken aback? How can I bless my past? Why would I?
Better question is why not bless your past?
Let’s wade in …. As you sit go back in time to a painful place, or a place of uncertainty, or a place where you know you made a mistake. How do you feel? Swarmed with guilt? Shame? Self-Loathing? Remorse?
How does it feel to say to yourself “I am Sorry” or “I Love you” (talking to yourself). You are more than that long-ago mistake or misjudgment. You deserve to be loved by yourself. Love radiates outward, but it needs somewhere to come from — that’s you.
The idea of self-love after healing from self-loathing or shame or whatever it is in your life is tough and it TAKES TIME.
The best place to start is to bless your past. Your past makes up who you are. The experiences. The people. The missteps. The jobs. The successes. The failures. The apologies to self and others. And the list goes on……….
Today – if you are struggling or feeling stuck in memory lane and you can’t seem to let go of those feelings. It’s time to take one step today towards forgiving and blessing that chapter of your life rewarding yourself with a pat on the back.
I have said it before, but will say it again…. small steps lead to big changes. Small, gentle, tender, thoughtful steps will lead you where you want to go coupled with patience and time.
Today: What is one area of your “past” life you can bless today?
